January 10, 2008. The funding for this program has been discontinued. There will be no 2008 program. SUNY Oswego was proud to have more than 160 pre-teachers participate in this program since its beginning in 2000. However, the funding for the program has been steadily decreasing for the past four years.

Applications  
   

Key info to think about: 
They are only accepting 150 teaching interns, down from 300 last year, and 500 in prior years.
They will probably receive more than 900 applications.
We expect no more than 10 students from SUNY Oswego will be accepted.

Minimum criteria:
--enrolled in teacher certification program in New York State
--have 60 semester hours of credit by last December, 3.0 GPA minimum
--complete application package--read the info on-line very carefully

Extended criteria (preference may be given to the following):
--be graduating by May 2008
--be certified in these areas:  Math, Science, Special Education, Bilingual, Spanish, or ESL
--make a commitment to work at least one year (2008-09) in NYC
