Studio course focusing on advanced concepts and research strategies of design through an examination of thematic content. Visual analysis and organization, interpretation and meaning will be addressed through this inquiry. Three [3] semester hours. Prerequisite: ART 105.
Course Objectives
Identify and employ multiple research strategies to collect information for studio topic study.
Exploit and develop critical thinking skills by creating visual solutions which weigh, dissect and reorder collected research findings.
Survey contemporary readings on art and design to determine the meaning of theoretical positions and their connection to thematic studio projects.
Examine and appraise design in the visual environment through contemporary models and design of the everyday.
Cite and adopt the vocabulary, concepts, and critical analysis skills required to evaluate works of art and design.
