Studio course focusing on the process, concepts and vocabulary of design through an examination of the principles of two dimensional visual organization. Visual analysis, perception and aesthetics will be addressed through a diverse exploration of media and content. Three [3] semester hours.
Course Objectives
Study experientially the function of design as a means of communicating order through specific projects in diverse media.
Arrange and make use of the elements and principles of design through varied project requirements.
Identify and utilize the vocabulary, concepts, and critical analysis skills required to evaluate works of art and design.
Examine and appraise design in the visual environment through historical models and design of the everyday.
Survey contemporary readings on art and design to determine the meaning of theoretical positions and their connection to studio projects.
