I'll be your guide this semester in the study of traditional and new electronic media. We're going to look at the media business and the relationship between programming, ratings and audience. Along the way, we'll look at the history, the impact of new technology and all electronic media, too.

This is an especially exciting time to study electronic media. Mergers between new and old media are reshaping the way we use the various electronic media. Through this course you can learn about the history, business structure and programming of electronic media.

New communication technologies promise new ways to deliver programs. The future, though hard to predict, will be exciting to study.
