When
students are done with their projects, they will be able to recognize the
similarities and differences between "The Nutcracker" as the
original story by E.T.A.
Hoffmann and the
ballet version by P. I. Tchaikovsky. They will be able to indicate settings
and events that take place in the ballet and the story. They will learn the important
connection between music played everyday in Orchestra class and World culture.
