Lev Vygotsky was a Russian developmental pychologist who was born in 1896 and wasn't discovered by the western world until 1934, which was after his death from tuberculosis at the age of 37. Vygotsky's young academic intentions were dealing with law at Moscow University.
Vygotsky attmpted to understand the formation of intellect by focusing on its process of development in children. One of his most important concepts is the Zone of Proximal Development.
