Noam Chomsky, a linguistics Professor at MIT, was born on 12-7-1928 in Philadelphia, PA. In 1945 Chomsky started studying phiosophy and linguisitcs at the University of Pennsylvania.

Chomsky has done great work in the field of linguistics including creating his own classification system for formal languages which is called the Chomsky hierarchy. Chomsky has written many books on linguistics and also on his extreme libral political views.
