Five Secret Rules:
What Your Professors Don't Tell You About Research Papers
If you want a good grade on your paper—this is what you’ve got to do:
- Come up with an interesting question: Give me something different to read.
- Find and use good sources: Try to use some books and articles that I know and love.
- Understand what you read: Read it more than once—learn some new vocabulary.
- Learn and think something new. If you’re not learning you’re wasting your time and mine.
- Present what you learned in a professional manner: Sound like and look like a scholar, but please don’t bore me.
