Taking Sides Paper #7 Requirements: Read: p 271-287 in the Taking Sides text. (Issue #14 Question: Does Islamic revivalism challenge a stable world order?) Students will write a paper (approx. 2-3 pages, typed, double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman or Arial font, with no more than 1 inch margins), based on this chapter. It is DUE ON 12/1. No late papers will be accepted and this counts as 15% or 20% of your final grade. ALL papers will have an Introduction, Body and Conclusion. Your thesis must be clearly stated in your introduction. In the body of your paper, students will answer the following questions: What are each of the historians' theses and what evidence do they offer to support their theses, respectively? CHOOSE A SIDE: Which historian do you agree with and why? The answer to this question will serve as your thesis. It should be formed in a definitive and clear statement. It then should be supported by evidence to support your claim. YOU MUST CHOOSE ONLY 1 SIDE! Students can use outside sources including but not limited to; the textbook, lecture notes, movies, internet resources. Encyclopedias, (including Wikipedia) are NOT ACCEPTABLE sources.
