I'm in the basement of the house. We are replacing a blowtorch that is
connected to the heater. I'm holding it in place, as my friend is
taping it. He is about to
pull the trigger to see if it works as I jump out of the way behind a half concrete wall. I have heard stories of people's basements
exploding when the blowtorches go out and the gas is not turned off. Our son comes down part of the
steps. I yell to him to go back upstairs. He doesn't like to listen, and
sits on the steps. The
blowtorch is turned on, the heater goes up in flames. My friend has a bucket of water ready, and douses the flame. I giggle as our son gets drenched from the
water.
