My Sirocco Sail Boat

This is my Sirocco sailboat. I am the fourth owner. The boat was originally purchased in 1972. It was located in central New Jersey until 2005 when I moved near Syracuse, NY.

These photographs were taken at Carnegie Lake, Princeton, NJ.

The third owner unfortunately left the boat outside for about 10 years uncovered and it was a wreck when I purchased it in 1995. I had the topsides completely stripped and repainted with epoxy. I also replaced all of the standing and running rigging. Fortunately, all of the sails ad equipment were stored in a garage. The wooden rails on the deck were installed bythe second owner as was the roller furling jib, the wooden rudder, and the wooden locker doors.

This boat is related to the DS-16 and other small sailboats from Dillar-Schwill Yachts of Odessa, Ontario. I have seen a DS-16 and it looks quite similar.

It has a small plate on the inside transom that says Oshawa boat works in Ontario. The serial number is 11089.

Please e-mail any questions or comments. If you send me a picture of your Sirocco, I will post it on this page. E-mail: gelfand@oswego.edu
