Introduction
Welcome to the geology and geologic events of the Australian and Pacific islands. This site is to serve as a learning medium for those that are interested in learning more about how the islands of the Pacific Ocean were formed. The following pages will discus and hopefully answer questions that have to do with plate tectonics, volcanoes, and hot spots. Also the following pages will bring to light some of the specific geologic events that have occurred in this region and will discuss their impacts.
