Letter from Bob Hageny:

Quest Presenters and Sponsors:

If you are using our Lanigan Hall PC's for your QUEST presentation, we advise that you come over Monday, April 17th or Tuesday, April 18th (SEE ROOM / TIME AVAILABILITY SCHUEDULE BELOW) to assure your presentation will work properly with our system.  Each podium computer has Windows XP, Microsoft Office XP (including Word and PowerPoint), a network (internet) connection, and a variety of other common applications.  Please also let us know in advance if you plan on using your own laptop, as we will need to supply you with a VGA cable that will interface with the data projector.

We strongly recommend that you bring two forms of the presentation.  Our primary recommendations for storage are USB flash (thumb) drives, and CD-R media.  We do not recommend storing your presentation on a floppy disk due to high failure rates.  If you still wish to use a floppy disk, make sure the disk is new and in good condition.  You are welcome to copy your presentation onto the computer hard disk for easy accessibility on QUEST day, however, bring both presentation sources on Wednesday as backup.

You will have 15 minutes for your presentation (unless you have a panel or other special format), thus any time you take to set up will take away from the time you have to present. For example: if you are scheduled to speak from 9:30-9:45 and it takes you 5 minutes to set up, then you will have only ten minutes left to present, since you must finish by 9:45.

If you have any questions relating to what our computers support, please contact Aaron Reece (reece@oswego.edu) no later than Monday, April 17th. PowerPoint remotes will be available in all large lecture halls.

Good Luck to All!

-Bob
