Text: Elementary Statistics  10th edition by Mario Triola

Homework will be assigned for each section covered. You will have to keep a homework portfolio. I will collect the entire portfolio three times during the year. You will be notified the class before. Should you miss a class, check the website to see if the HW is due.

Quizzes will be on each Thursday except for exam days. There are 10 quizzes in all, the first of which is February 7. Each quiz covers the material of the previous week. There will be no make-up quizzes.

Projects: There will be one major project in which you gather your own data and perform appropriate tests.  You will need to write up your results in a 2-3 page paper.  Information about the projects will be available on the course website.

Exams: If you cannot take an exam because of illness (or other excusable reason), you must speak with me before the exam is scheduled in order to receive alternate consideration. The two midterm exams are scheduled for March 6 and April 24.

Miscellaneous

All cell phones are to be turned off and stowed away during class.

Students entering or leaving the room in the middle of class disrupt the concentration of others. Please be considerate and limit your breaks to true emergencies.

If you have a disabling condition which may interfere with your ability to successfully complete this course, please contact the Disability Services Office.

Intellectual integrity on the part of all students is basic to individual growth and development through college course work. When academic dishonesty occurs, the teaching/learning climate is seriously undermined and student growth and development are impeded. For these reasons, any form of intellectual dishonesty is a serious concern and is therefore prohibited."
