He was known as the “All Star” because he was so athletic and fast. He was team captain of practically every sport you could think of! Pepper on the other hand, was not. He loved horsing around and playing ball with the guys but never took it seriously. As far as Pepper was concerned keeping score wasn’t important; he was always picked last in gym class.
Once upon a time there was a seagull named Pepper. He was called this because he had dark speckles covering his nose. He had lots of soft white feathers, unlike most other seagulls who were constantly losing theirs in brawls over food. You could call Pepper a reserved seagull. He was a friendly bird and had no trouble sparking up a conversation with fellow gulls, but being a seagull wasn’t easy. With a personality like Pepper’s, the hunt for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a tough one. Most other seagulls had that inner instinct to be competitive; otherwise, you were destined to have an empty stomach. Pepper lived in Croton, a small beach town. His best friend, Paulie, was a popular but mellow seagull. He had no enemies. All of the gulls of Croton knew Paulie and he was friends with everyone.
