Test creation checklist

Create a 35-50 item test based on a unit of study.  This assignment provides an opportunity for students to write a paper and pencil test.  Consider working with a partner. Look at group assignment directions=GAD.

Create an Authentic Performance Task. This assignment provides students with an opportunity to create an alternative to the  traditional paper and pencil tests.  Use the ASSURE model to structure your performance task. See the project Checklist for guidance on how the performance tasks were created. What is a performance task anyway?
Look at group assignment directions=GAD.

Summary Reports allow you to write a brief report summarizing what you learned from the text readings, journal articles,  discussion, etc.

Presentations allow you to learn more about a topic of interest.  All presentations are done in groups of two (groups are selected by the instructor.) The presentation should be based on 10 minutes of direct (lecture format) presentation with 20  minutes of group discussion/activity. (assessment).  A topic will be assigned early in the semester. This assignment is worth 30 points.  See Topics.

Multiple technology Integration assignments are worth a total of 40 points. This assignment includes participating in the listserv, getting an email account and completing the web page design performance task. Go to technology to activate an account.

This assignment includes two separate pieces.  The first part is a Math Review Test.  This exercise provides you with an opportunity to review some math skills necessary for the data analysis later. The second assignment requires data analysis assignment. The first assignment is worth 10 points and the second is worth 20 points.  The total number of points for these assignments is 30 points.

You will critique a paper and pencil test, or a performance task according to the following schedule. Summary reports may be critiqued for 2-5 points each. Look at the  Constructive Friend paperwork for help with these critiques.  Each critique is worth 30 points.
