Welcome to the North East regional Sigma Xi conference information web site

The NE undergraduate and graduate student Sigma Xi poster conference took place on Saturday, April 18th, 2009, at SUNY-Oswego, Oswego, NY, on the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario.

We are looking for a new location for 2010. Please get involved, please let us know if you are interested that 2010 conference happens on your campus!

Schedule:
-arrival, set up, and breakfast snacks,  Sheldon Hall Ballroom,  9:15 to 10:15 AM;
-poster session, judging, and networking, Sheldon Hall Ballroom, 10:15 AM to 11:15 PM (Session 1) and 11:25 AM to 12:25 PM (Session 2);
-lunch and networking, 12:30 to 1:30 PM, Sheldon Lower Lobby;
-lecture “The quantum identity crisis: Bose-Condensation and beyond” by Nicholas P. Bigelow, Lee A. DuBridge Professor of Physics and Chair Professor of Optics, Senior Scientist, Laboratory for Laser Energetics, Quantum Optics and Quantum Physics, University of Rochester, 1:30 to 2:30, and poster awards, 2:30 to 3:00 PM;
-Sigma Xi members and officers, discussion of the NE regional Sigma Xi, meet the national Sigma Xi Executive Director, Dr. Jerry Baker, 3:00 PM.
