Students will be working in groups, individually and as a
whole class to attain information on Islam and Slavery. There will be centers
provided where they will be visiting to attaining these information.
CENTER ONE: (Students with attention problem, low level readers, and visual
and auditory learners will be at this center first).
Students are to watch the link on how Islam shaped
and reformed slavery.
This
center, the students will be watching a video about a scholar who speaks about
the phenomenon of Islam and Slavery. They are to take notes on the speech to
compare it to the article read to pull out the legitimate information. That
information will be used, by the students, to answer the questions assessment.
They will have two class sessions to complete the task at this center as well.
CENTER TWO: (Students of average and above reading levels and linguistic
learners will be at this center).
Students will be provided with articles strictly on Islam
and Slaver
This
center will consist of reading articles based on Islam and slavery. The authors
of the articles will be scholars. There will be three articles on the topic for
student to choose one and gather notes and responses on. They must finish the
center before they can move on to another one. Students have two class sessions
to achieve the task in this center.
CENTER THREE: (Students with spatial intelligence will be creating a comic
book, explaining Islam and how they interacted with slavery). They will have two
class sessions to complete the task.

Islam and Slavery. 25 multiple questions for student with Individual Education
Goals (I.E.P.) and an essay for any student who chooses to do so.
