Health Promotion and Wellness
Overview
The Health Promotion and Wellness department offers a multidisciplinary major leading to the bachelor of science in Wellness Management. The program prepares students to assume roles as wellness/health promotion professionals in private business and industry, community organizations, and health care agencies.
Our program focuses on wellness, worksite health promotion and managing such programs. Students graduate with a foundation in health science/wellness, management and human behavior as well as skills in needs assessment, program planning and implementation, and program evaluation.
Majors and Programs
Students can earn a bachelor's degree in Wellness Management. Minors in Athletic Coaching and Health Science are also available.
Student Opportunities
Students enjoy a variety of opportunities, from working with Oswego's athletic teams to gaining knowledge working in Walker Health Center or the Counseling Services Center to beneficial internships with health-care organizations, physical theraphy providers, fitness cetners or other options among the college's many connections.

After Oswego
Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as a wellness/health promotion specialist/manager in a health-care organization, corporate setting or public agency. Students may also continue with graduate work in health promotion, business administration, allied health and exercise science. Many graduates join the coaching ranks from college athletics to youth sports.
