Our Accounting, Finance and Law area provides the strengths of Oswego's School of Business in fields where we enjoy strong job placement through our track record and alumni network. If you're looking at working in accounting, insurance, the financial field or risk management, or want to progress toward a future in business law, we provide an outstanding avenue.
Majors and Programs
Programs in Accounting are registered with the State of New York for candidates seeking admission to sit for the CPA examination. The 150 Hour Accounting BS/MBA program is the first combined program offered by a state university college so registered, with innovative combined MBA/bachelor's degrees in psychology and broadcasting also available. Students planning to enter Public Accounting receive the foundation to take the examination with additional preparation.
Our Management Accounting degree provides an attractive option for accounting students interested in corporate as opposed to public accounting. Our Finance bachelor of science degree program prepares students for positions in financial institutions such as commercial and investment banks, mutual funds, brokerages and insurance companies, as well as in the finance and account departments of manufacturing, retail, and non-profit businesses.
Our groundbreaking program in Risk Management and Insurance prepares graduates for careers in risk management, risk analysis, insurance underwriting, management of insurance operations, insurance agencies and insurance adjustment.
