OU Bug Report
Form Issues
We have received notification from OmniUpdate Support that one form issue has been fixed.
This OU bug put “checked="0" and disabled="true"” into the HTML source code of the form when it was edited in the Universal editor. Unfortunately, this fix will NOT remove any instances where the checked="0" and disabled="true” have been added. This means if you have any 'disabled' forms, you will have to manually remove the following:
checked="0" and/or disabled="true"
There is a remaining form issue: Internet Explorer does not handling select elements correctly. Internet Explorer will check the “Multiple selections allowed” checkbox and collapse the select dropdown.
If you have any form questions or need help, email webmaster@oswego.edu.
DIV Tag Issue
In a few instances, editors have added <div> </div> tags in the HTML code using the Universal Editor. Unfortunately, the Universal Editor is now removing those div tags and the information contained inside the tags. This has been reported to OmniUpdate Support and they are working on a solution.
Acalog
As many of you already know the college has implemented a new system named Acalog for displaying degree requirements on the web.
Prior to Acalog, degree requirements were brought into web pages via an embedded script, while the actual requirements content displayed on those pages was stored in a very large file maintained by the Registrar's office. The centralized content design was intended to allow departments to display their respective degree requirements and to ensure that the degree requirements were up-to-date and consistent with both the undergraduate and graduate college catalogs across all pages on the web site. While working with the Registrar's office to maintain the degree requirements file, it became very clear that a better system, like Acalog, was needed.
The change to Acalog has made many web pages which used to display degree requirements obsolete; most of the web pages that brought in degree requirements now contain links which point to the degree requirements in Acalog. We have been working very hard to update these pages based on each site's architecture, but we need your help. To keep the system accurate, we ask you to check your department web pages to ensure that no degree requirements information is displayed, and that all links point to the appropriate degree requirements in Acalog. To best serve our students, Acalog should be the only web space in which degree requirements are displayed. If your department would like to include degree requirements, please do so via a link to Acalog.
If you have any questions about this or if you need help linking up requirements information to Acalog please let us know.
