Date: Wednesday, May 27
Time: Changed to 2 - 3:30 PM due to Employee Recognition Luncheon

In the first half of this session we will review creating and editing departmental web pages in OmniUpdate Campus. The second half is your choice. After you register for the class go to this page and choose two additional things (s) you want to learn.
Choices include:
- resize an image for the web
- insert multimedia into your site including
- RSS (Really Simple Syndication)
- create an accessible PDF file from a Word document
- review the various templates available in OmniUpdate
This workshop combines lecture with hands-on practice. Previous experience with OmniUpdate Campus is desired but not mandatory.

New Image Editing Button -- Needs Latest Version of Java
You may have noticed a small change in the dialog window that pops up when you insert an image. When attempting to use this editor, my browsers crashed and I lost work I had not saved.

According to OmniUpdate support, the image editor minimally requires Java 5 installed to be able to use it. The latest version of Java is recommended: Windows - Java 6 (1.6 version 13). Macintosh - Java 5 (1.5 Update 3).
I have Java 5 installed on my PC and it still is crashing. My advice -- don't use the Edit Image button in OmniUpdate. Instead use Paint.net on a PC or Preview (Mac) to resize your image before uploading. Directions are in this PDF file.
