Lecture, "Equal Work, Equal Pay" by Lilly Ledbetter

For 10 years, Lilly Ledbetter fought to close the gap between women's and men's wages, lobbying Capitol Hill in a historic discrimination case against Goodyear. While Ledbetter lost the case on appeal (a decision upheld by the Supreme Court), the experience prompted her to become a spokesperson for equal pay. President Barack Obama's first act in office was to sign the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act. She will tell her story and discuss the fight for equal pay in the workplace. Part of the Ernst & Young Lecture Series. Free; parking for those without a campus parking sticker is $1 -- see oswego.edu/administration/parking. 312-3236.
