Poster Guidelines

The poster that you present should provide a complete description of your project. It should attract attention, provide an overview of your work and initiate discussions and questions. Anyone viewing it should be able to understand the essence of what you did and how it worked without any further explanation. For at least part of the time that the poster is on display, we ask that you will be avilable to provide further details for those who wish to know more.
Posters should be 42" by 60".

Specific Suggestions:

  • Keep the material simple. Your poster should cover KEY POINTS of your topic.
  • Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible.Make full use of the space, but do not overload information onto the page.
  • Be concise! Prepare handouts that explain more details.Use color for highlighting the most important/pertinent information.
  • Use visual displays! Make your poster intriguing and interesting.Use background/foreground colors that have high contrast (make it easy to read).Use fonts that are easy on the eyes, such as Times New Roman or Arial.Use a large font for the titles and headings.
  • Prepare a short presentation that you can periodically give to those assembled around your poster.Proofread all your materials and make sure you have no spelling and grammar errors - be professional!"
