Currently Seeking P2Ps for the 2013-2014 Academic Year!
In the Fall of 2012, the Counseling Services Center launched its first ever Peer Education Program, Peer2Peer (P2P). The P2Ps have been hard at work doing outreach tabling, various workshops for their peers, receiving training from mental health professionals, and assisting the Counseling Center's staff. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain skills in leadership, communication, team building, and advocacy experience. Additionally, P2Ps gain knowledge on a wide array of mental health and wellness topics, and educate the student body about the Counseling Center and good mental health. It is also a great way to learn more about yourself and develop both personally and professionally.
As a Peer Educator, you will receive 3 academic credits (GST 303) by completing the required GST 303 hours (about 8 hours per week), attending mandatory August training, class one evening a week (most likely Wednesdays), participating in outreach, and helping to plan and execute P2P programs and initiatives.
