Meet the 2014/2015 Counseling Center P2Ps (Peer2Peer)- "We're Here to Help You Fly!"





Kathleen Kratz

Kathleen is a senior Philosophy-Psychology and Cognitive Science Major. After she graduates, she would like to go to Graduate School for a Social Work degree. Kathleen is also a Peer Adviser in the Psychology Department. She enjoys being outside, watching movies, going on trips, and knitting.




Lauren Sorce

Lauren is a senior Psychology major with a Health Science minor.  She is from Buffalo, NY. Lauren is a teaching and research assistant.  She aims to go to graduate school after finishing her senior year at Oswego. Lauren enjoys concerts and road trips. Lauren loves the Buffalo Sabres - Let's go Buffalo!





  Stephen Gambardella

Stephen is a junior psychology major with minors in business administration and cognitive science. He is from Long Island and is planning to continue his education in graduate school for psychology. Stephen is also involved in the Mentor Scholar program, and is a board member for the Oswego Club Soccer team. He is passionate about working with individuals in need.



Rebecca Duquette

Becca is a senior this year, and is from Plattsburgh, NY. She loves food, road trips, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. She is a double major in Music and Psychology, and hopes to go to graduate school next year for Mental Health Counseling. She is very involved at SUNY Oswego, where she is a P2P, a member of the club ice hockey team, a volunteer with Mentor Oswego, and a sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi.



Karley Gabriel

Karley was born on March 3rd, 1994 on Long Island. She is a junior with a major in Psychology and a minor in Expressive Arts Therapy. She loves foxes, art, and Disney, and is very passionate about mental health awareness and social justice. She has been a Peer Advisor and is the treasurer at the Women's Center. She hopes to one day become a mental health counselor or art therapist, and would like to earn a doctorate at some point in the distant future!



Raeann Mariella

 Raeann  is a senior at SUNY Oswego, majoring in Human Development. She is Vice President of SUNY Oswego's Cut the Craft Club. Raeann has a very strong love for her family, friends, animals, the beach, singing, writing and traveling. The summer of 2013, she spent over two months in Tanzania, Africa, and hopes to continue work in this country after graduation! 




 Jenn Cross

 Jen is a junior, majoring in Human Development and minoring in Gerontology. She plans on going to graduate school for Mental Health Counseling and Trauma, in hopes to become a trauma counselor for specifically the elderly population. In addition to her P2P internship, she is a First Year Peer Advisor for the Sociology department and will be a Group Leader for the Adopt-A-Grandparent Program. During her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, dog, and friends, kayaking, traveling, horseback riding, and playing board and card games.




 Mackenzie Gillett

Mackenzie is a senior graphic design major preparing to attend graduate school for my masters in art therapy. I'm from the small town of Adams, NY, about an hour north of Oswego. She has been a Peer Advisor for the Honors Program and a TA for the graphic design department in the past.  She loves art, listening to music, going to concerts, meeting new people, learning new things, and spending time with her family and friends.





Joe Hutchins

Joe was born in Oswego, N.Y. on November 4, 1992 and lives with his parents, two sisters and a brother. He is Psychology major in his senior year. Joe plans to continue his studies and pursue a Master's degree and eventually a Ph. D in Psychology. Joe enjoys snowboarding, swimming, and listening to classic rock like the Beatles.



Kaylina Rivera

Kaylina is a 21 year old who loves to dance, travel, do arts& crafts, admire beautiful scenery, decorate, and stay active in her community. With the passion, patience, and love that she has for children, she wants to become a Play Therapist.  She is currently a Human Development major with an Expressive Arts Therapy minor. 




Shanice Brown

Shanice is senior and a Pre-medical Biology major with a minor in Psychology. She was born on April 6, 1993 in Jamaica West Indies. She is from Queens, NY. Shanice's future goal is to attend medical school and become a family psychiatrist. Shanice is currently a resident assistant in Seneca Hall. She likes singing, acting, and belly dancing in her spare time. Her favorite color is blue, because it reminds of the ocean which loves the beach. She is very excited to be a Peer to Peer Educator of the Counselling Center in her senior year!


Colin Gooley

Colin is a senior Psychology major with a minor in Sociology.  He plans on becoming a school psychologist or a psychologist who works in the field of pediatric oncology. Colin is a TA for HDV child development, he is an intern for the OCP and Soar programs, and he works in Culkin Hall in the Dean of Students Office.  Colin loves to fish and play lacrosse, golf, and sled hockey!
