This program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to enhance
their leadership capabilities. It is structured with module presentations
that assist students by introducing basic and development leadership skills.
Each module presentation focuses on one of the many different aspects of
leadership and is conducted by faculty, professionals in the workplace, or
academic staff members who have the desire to assist student leaders.
The purpose of this program is to make people aware of society’s
expectations for leadership skills, then they in return can become more
prepared to play a major role in solving tomorrow’s issues/concerns. The
program also encourages participants to become involved in leadership
activities.
The Point strongly believes that successful leadership practices are the
result of many factors, including one’s knowledge, training, life experience
and commitment to the values of his or her organization. Lastly, we see
our role as a possible first step in our students life long process of growing
into effective leaders, regardless of age, classification or field of
study.
