Student Involvement Awards Details
 The deadline for applications & nominations for the 2008 Student Involvement Awards is 4 PM on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.


The Student Involvement Awards will occur at 5 PM on April 30, 2008 in the Hewitt Union Ballroom.

The Student Involvement Awards are divided into three categories: 1) Organization, 2) Individual, and 3) Greek. Applications for each award may be downloaded (requires MS Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download)) from this site or picked up at The Point, 101 Campus Center.

INVOLVEMENT TESTIMONIAL
This award is offered to give involved students the opportunity to share how their involvement has impacted their lives. The awards committee will evaluate this award on content, style and grammar. Testimonials should be attached to this application and should be no longer than one typed page with 12 pt. font and standard margins. The recipients of this Award will have their testimonial shared at the Student Involvement Awards Ceremony.

OUTSTANDING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
This award is offered to recognize organizations that have conducted a meaningful educational project over the course of the academic year. Educational programs are those events that the organization has sponsored for your members and/or the entire campus community. These events may include speakers, training and awareness events, etc. This award is not intended to recognize community service events. Co-sponsored programs must apply jointly. Each organization is limited to one application for this award.

This award is offered to show recognition to those faculty/staff advisors who are involved with your organization.

PRESIDENT'S AWARD OF ACHIEVEMENT
The President’s Award of Achievement recognizes student organizations that go above and beyond the normal level
of involvement. This award which will be presented by SUNY Oswego’s President Stanley and will be recognized in three divisions: an ALANA Division, a Greek Division and a Student Organization Division.

DEDICATION TO COMMUNITY SERVICE
This award has been established to recognize those organizations that show a tremendous dedication to community service and involvement. These organizations participate in community service throughout the academic year and are always searching for new and innovative ways to support the campus and the surrounding community.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE PROJECT
This award is offered to recognize an individual service project that has had a strong impact on the SUNY Oswego campus or the community surrounding the college.
Co-sponsored programs must apply jointly. Each organization is limited to one application for this award.

OSWEGO'S PROMISE
Oswego’s Promise Award is designed to recognize newly established as well as previously recognized clubs and organizations that show the best potential for positive impact on the SUNY Oswego campus. These organizations are dedicated to making their "mark" on both the campus and the surrounding community.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT AWARD
This award is presented to SUNY Oswego students who have served, in an exemplary fashion, our campus and the surrounding community by being involved in leadership, community services, event programming and other areas of involvement. Students selected for this honor will have made a difference "through their involvement".

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:
1) Currently enrolled in SUNY Oswego.
2) Demonstrated leadership committed to ethical action and social responsibility.
3) Demonstrated an attitude of service to the campus and/or community.
4) Shown a commitment to academic and personal growth.

DISTINGUISHED STUDENT LEADER AWARD
This is the highest leadership honor which is presented to only one SUNY Oswego student each year who has served in a variety of significant leadership roles during their college career.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:
1.) Currently enrolled at SUNY Oswego with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
2.) Distinguished service or achievement in a student organization, academic department or the college as a whole. Such distinguished service could be one significant activity or a pattern of exemplary service during the individual’s time at Oswego.
3.) Continued incorporation of ethics and positive values into leadership actions demonstrated in all involvements.
4.) Participation in co-curricular activities having a positive impact on the campus as a whole.

GREEK MAN & GREEK WOMAN OF THE YEAR
The Greek Man & Woman of the Year Awards are bestowed on those individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in the commitment and leadership that they have offered their chapters, the Greek community and SUNY Oswego as a whole. The Greek Man & Woman of the Year Awards not only recognize all of the work and achievements done by their recipients in the past year but they also encompass all of the involvement that these individuals have had while they have been a part of the SUNY Oswego community.
