ALANA Conference
General Information

The ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, and Native American) Student Leadership Conference.

 

PURPOSE:  The ALANA Student Leadership Conference is designed to promote a multicultural environment at SUNY Oswego, which will allow all members of the campus community as well as members of other Colleges and Universities to interact positively in an atmosphere of mutual consideration and understanding.

The ALANA Student Leadership Conference will promote interaction of all students in educational and developmental activities and social situations designed to address ALANA issues.

The ALANA Student Leadership Conference will encourage new and returning students to participate in workshops and other special events that will help them expand their knowledge about ALANA cultures and improve their leadership skills and practices.

 

Theme: Every year, ALANA comes up with a theme representing what we stand for. This year’s theme is, “Different Minds, Cultures, and Races: Hand in Hand our Dreams Become Reality.” This year’s theme was created by Alfred University during the 16 Annual ALANA Student Leadership Conference’s Theme Competition.

We hope you have a better idea of what ALANA stands for!!!

The 2008 ALANA Conference will be held: September 18th - 21st.
