Campus Recreation Employees of the Month

Senior Maria Rodriguez has been chosen as a Campus Recreation Employee of the Month as an Office Assistant/Building Manager.

Rodriguez, a Business Administration Major from Manhattan, has been working as an OA/BM since her freshman year. "I love working for Campus Recreation," said Rodriguez. "I wanted to work for Campus Recreation because I wanted to meet new people and develop my communication skills and that is exactly what happened."

Rodriguez was chosen as an Employee of the Month partially due to her outstanding ability to show initiative from her position. "I think that initiative is a positive trait to have because it shows that you are willing to go beyond what is expected and can only lead to excelling at work," said Rodriguez. "I have demonstrated initiative at Campus Recreation by making myself a role model for the new staff and by answering any questions my coworkers may have." I laugh when people see me and say 'you're everywhere' or 'you work here too'?" said Rodriguez. "I enjoy interacting with the students that come into both Lee and Swetman."

Along with working at Campus Recreation, Rodriguez enjoys reading, eating, and sketching clothing.
