Squatting (Room Selection Phase III-a)

If you would like to stay in your current room for next year (squat), here’s what you need to do:

  • Login to myOswego and click “Student Room Selection.”
  • Follow instructions and pay your $100 Housing Deposit online; if you must pay the deposit in person you can do so at Student Accounts, 408 Culkin Hall.
  • Login to myHousing.oswego.edu (using your Oswego.edu email username and password) and submit your housing preferences. This is where you will indicate that you wish to squat.

If you have a roommate request(s), you will make that request at this point in the process. Your requested roommate must request you as a roommate or you will not be able to choose a room.

  • Return to myHousing after 4 pm on Friday, April 11th to find out your Start Time for Phase III (April 14th and 15th).
  • Return to myHousing at or after your Start Time to confirm that you want to live in the same room next year. Your requested roommate(s) must also go to myHousing and confirm that s/he wishes to be your roommate in the room you have squatted.

If you currently live in Onondaga and wish to squat in your current suite, the process above applies.  However, in order to be eligible to squat in Onondaga, you must fill the entire suite. See Onondaga Lottery for more information.

If you will be moving in with someone who is staying in his/her room for next year, the person who is squatting should go online first and request you as his/her roommate. Then, when you go online, simply choose “N/A” when submitting your room preferences.

If you do not squat during Phase III, you will automatically be placed in your In-Hall Lottery (to take place April 22nd & 23rd). If this is the case, you must go to myHousing at or after 4:00 pm on Monday, April 21st to find out your Start Time for the In-Hall Lottery.
