Personal Preferences
Personal Preferences

Housing assignments are made based on gender and smoking preference. Whenever possible, roommate requests are honored as long as each roommate indicates the request in writing.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all residence halls. However, some students are either bothered by or are allergic to residual cigarette smoke on the clothing and belongings of smokers. If you are a smoker, or if you are a non-smoker who is willing to live with a smoker, choose “yes” from the dropdown menu for this item. If you are not a smoker and do not wish to live with a smoker, choose “no.”

Disabilities

Students with disabilities are welcome in the residence halls.  If you have a disability that may affect your room assignment, please indicate the nature of the disability in this box. This information will only be used to determine the most appropriate housing assignment for you.

International Roommates

If you are an international student, or are a domestic student who would like to live with an international student, please choose “yes” from the dropdown menu for this item. If you are not an international student or are not willing to live with an International student, please choose “no.”

Roommate Requests

If you have a specific student with whom you would like to live, please enter his/her Student ID number in this box. Provided this student also indicates in writing his/her desire to live with you, every effort will be made to assign the two of you together. In this case, any other personal preferences will be considered less important than the mutual roommate request.
