Housing Preferences
Housing Preferences

Residence Life and Housing will make every effort to honor Housing Preferences. You may include up to 10 Housing Preferences; however, the more housing preferences you indicate, the more challenging it will be to accommodate all of your preferences. So, it’s best that you determine which criteria are most important.

PROGRAM/PROGRAM BUILDINGS

Hart Global Living and Learning Center, the Johnson Hall First Year Residential Experience and Living and Learning Communities are referred to as “Programs” on our campus. Hart and Johnson are “Program Buildings.”  Living Learning Communities are programs that are located in several different buildings. If you are interested in living in the Hart Hall Global Living and Learning Center, Johnson Hall First Year Residential Experience and/or Living Learning Communities (LLCs), please select “program building” from the drop down menu of Housing Preferences. You will then be directed to indicate which program you are most interested in. Select the one in which you are most interested from the drop down menu provided. If you are interested in more than one program building, indicate this as a separate Housing Preference.

Some Housing Preferences require submission of additional paperwork. Please print, complete and mail to us any required applications and/or agreements as explained below:

Hart Global Living & Learning Center

Hart Global Living & Learning Center requires submission of a Hart Hall Application(pdf 120kb) and acceptance of the terms of the Hart Hall Agreement(pdf 107kb).

QUIET SECTIONS

All residence halls have “Quiet Hours.” During the regular academic semester, these quiet hours are 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights and 2:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday mornings. (A note about campus wide quiet hours: Courtesy hours are observed 24 hours per day. Individual halls and living units may extend quiet hours or establish specific additional quiet hours at their discretion and/or through the Community Living Agreement. Quiet hours are observed 24 hours per day during the week before, and the week of, final examinations. Residents are expected to defer to approved activity at all times.)

Students who would like an environment with even less noise may be interested in our Quiet Sections, which are available in several different buildings. There are two types of Quiet Sections:  24-hour and 14-hour. Students requesting to live in a 24-hour Quiet Section agree to live in an environment where no noise can be heard in the public areas of the floor. A 14-hour Quiet section has 2 additional quiet hours each day.
