Residence Hall Room Selection Step 3a

Students who are not required to live on campus next year should ONLY participate in Housing Selection (Village Housing  Selection and REsidence Hall Room Selection) if they are 100% sure they want to live on campus for the entire upcoming academic year.  Participation in Housing Selection GUARANTEES the student on-campus housing for the upcoming academic year; however, it ELIMINATES the student's option to live off campus for the entire upcoming academic year.

Students who don't participate in Housing Selection and later decide they want to live on campus next year can request housing; such requests will be honored on a space-available basis after the Housing Selection process is complete.

The Squatter Confirmation process is for Residence Hall Room Selection participants who do NOT live in Johnson Hall or The Village, and would like to stay in their current room for next year (and their matched "mates").

Housing Selection participants who wish to squat an Onondaga suite must be in matched groups of 6; one member of the group must currently live in the suite to be squatted.  These groups will confirm their intent to squat an Onondaga suite during the Squatter Confirmation process (April 9, 2013).

STEP 1:  APPLY

March 18 - April 5, 2013

• Sign in to myOswego and click "Returning Student Housing Selection."
• Follow instructions for accepting the terms of the Room & Board Agreement.
• Follow instructions and pay your $100 Housing Deposit online; if you must pay the deposit in person you can do so at Student Accounts, 408 Culkin Hall.

Students whose Housing Deposits are waived must still accept the terms of the applicable housing agreement(s) (part of Step 1) before continuing with the Housing Selection Process.

STEP 2:  SUBMIT HOUSING PREFERENCES

(including roommate requests, if any)

March 19 - April 24, 2013

• If you have a roommate request(s), you will make that request at this point in the process.
• Login to myHousing.oswego.edu (using your LakerNet Id and password) and submit your roommate request(s). Your requested roommate must request you as a roommate ("MATCH") or you will not be able to choose a room together.

Note:  Only students who have completed Step 1 can be requested as room/suitemates.

STEP 3:  CHOOSE

April 9, 2013

Return to myHousing any time between noon and 10 pm on April 10, 2012, to confirm that you want to live in the same room next year.

Failure to do this will result in your room being made available to other students later in the housing selection process.

PLEASE NOTE!

• If you currently live in The Village and would like to squat in your current townhouse, see Village Housing Selection for more information.
• If you currently live in Onondaga and wish to squat in your current suite, the process above applies.  However, in order to be eligible to squat in Onondaga, you must fill the entire suite. See Onondaga Suite Selection for more information.

If you will be moving in with someone who is staying in his/her room for next year, the person who is squatting must go online first and request you as his/her roommate.
