Why do I have to pay a membership fee to use the Fitness Center?
The Fitness Centers are non-profit facilities, run primarily from the income derived from membership fees. We are aware that many other colleges and universities provide "free" use of their facilities. However, it is important to note that at these other colleges, students are paying for fitness center operational costs somewhere in the tuition and fees. At SUNY Oswego, this is an optional expense, especially for those who either do not want to use the fitness center or belong to an outside facility. Every effort is made to provide the highest quality of service while keeping the memberships affordable for the student body.
