Welcome to the Wellness and Health Incentive Program! WHIP is a  5 week program that promotes healthy choices for students, faculty and staff. By signing up, you not help yourself become healthier but you have the chance to win a ton a great prizes. Essentially, you choose from up to 6 "challenge" to participate in and report your participation online for each challenge. Each week you report your progress, you are then eligible to win various prizes.

When is registration? Monday, January 30: 4:30 - 9:30 in Swetman Gym.

Who can participate? Any student, faculty and staff are eligible to participate.

How is this different from 2011? We have made an effort to simplify the process by focusing on the individual only and improving the reporting process. Also, the challenge has been shortened to 5 weeks to finish prior spring break.

What are the prizes? There are over $3,000 prizes and give-aways. Some prizes include an iPad, gift cards to Dicks Sporting Goods, College Bookstore, Mustard Seed and Fitness Center memberships. All participants that complete at least one challenge will also receive a T-shirt.

What are the challenges?

  • Push-up challenge - Increase the number of overall push-up are able to complete.
  • Flexibility challenge - Increase your overall flexibility.
  • 10, 000 step challenge - Increase the number of overall steps you take in the day.
  • Nutrition challenge - Improve your eating habits
  • Stress reduction challenge - Try to reduce your overall stress levels.
  • Sleep challenge - Improve your overall sleep.

How do I get these prizes? For each challenge you complete you are eligible for more prizes through raffle drawings. By reporting online your progress each Monday, you are eligible for a prize drawing for each challenge you participate in.

What should I expect at registration? Depending on the number challenges you decide to participate in will determine how long you will be there. Also, doing the push-up challenge and the flexibility challenge will require some comfortable clothing.

How long is the challenge? 5 weeks

What should I expect during the 5 weeks? During the registration, we will give you a plan on how to succeed. After which, it is up to you to stick to the program. In addition, we hope to supply you with supplemental online materials and programs throughout the 5 weeks.
