Great Lakes Atmospheric Science Symposium
SUNY Oswego's student Meteorology Club hosts a one-day conference to display the latest research that has unfolded in the meteorological world within the past year. Students, professors, National Weather Service employees, news channel meteorologists, etc. attend. Welcome to the Take it Off weight loss challenge! This team challenge is designed to kick start your new years weight loss program. Prizes will be rewarded to the winning teams as well weekly raffles drawings for participation in healthy acitivities. Free t-shirts for just showing up at the 3 weigh ins!
When is registration? Registration will be Monday, February 3 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in Swetman gym
Who can participate? Any student, faculty and staff are eligible to participate.
Is this a team challenge? Yes, you may enter teams of 2, 3 or 4 individuals.
What should I expect at registration? The most basic portion of registration will entail recording your weight (weighing in) and a 5 minute exit interivew with one of our fitness experts. In addition, we will have many other information tables and activities available at the weigh in. Fitness testing will also be available (ie body fat %). Please wear comfortable clothing if you are interested in participating in any of the fitness tests.
My whole team cannot make the weigh in at the same time, what should I do? Your whole team does not have to be there together to register. To make things go more smoothly, we ask that you have already have a team name picked out
Will my weight be public: No, it will not. All weigh-ins will be private and self-recorded.
When will the mid-weigh in and final weigh in be? Monday, March 10 and April 14. Both will be 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
How do you determine the winner? The top 3 winning teams will be determined by calculating team percent weight loss.To be eligible for prizes, all members of your team must show up to the mid and final weigh in.
What are the prizes? There will be over $1000 worth of prizes and giveaways. Prizes will include many gift cards to various local vendors.
How else can I get prizes? You will be receiving healthy choice punch cards that can be turned in for weekly raffle prizes. Punches can be received for attending the Fitness Centers, Lee Hall, Swetman Gym, Ice Arena and other special events. Also, we wil be giving prizes away to the male and female who lost the most percent body weight.
What should I do to lose weight? Well, that is up to you and your team. In your exit interview, we will provide you with some sound weight loss advice so you may reach your goal. In addition, you will be receiving weekly e-mails with a variety of weigh loss tips and stratagies.
