Chris Fitton

Hey, my name is Chris and I am a senior here at Oswego.  I am a double major in History and Public Justice and this is my third year as a personal trainer at the Fitness Centers.  I started lifting in high school and really got into it here at Oswego, making it a part of my daily routine.  One of the biggest reasons that I got so into working out was because of the enthusiasm and great exercises that my personal trainer showed me my freshman year.  This also inspired me to become a trainer and deliver the same sort of enthusiasm, knowledge and encouragement to others who were in similar positions as I was when I came to college.  I focus my exercises programs around my client's goals, whether it's to lose weight, gain muscle, tone up etc.  I look for exercises that will keep my clients interested and that assist you in reaching your fitness goals, and most importantly keep you motivated so that you'll keep coming back to the gym and make it a part of your life.  I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your fitness goals.

Wanda Sanchez

Hi, my name is Wanda Sanchez. I am a senior here at SUNY Oswego. I am Wellness Management Major, with a minor in Health Science and Coaching. I have been a personal trainer for the fitness center for about 3 years now. I also work as a nutrition counselor. In addition to working for the fitness centers on campus, I play for the SUNY Oswego Women's Basketball team. I love helping and educating people in order for them to reach their highest potential of living. In order for someone to be at their optimal health, one needs balance. It is not always about how fast you run or how much weight you can bench press but more about the balance between nutrition, physical and spiritual wellness. I try to meditate as often as I can because I think it is very important to incorporate some type of stillness activity into your life because it helps achieve mental clarity and health. I look forward to working with you guys this year and help you "Live without Limits."

Tiffany Schwab

Hi everyone! My name is Tiffany and I am a senior Wellness Management major and Health Science minor. It is my first year as a personal trainer but I am definitely not new to the exercise scene.  I've been playing sports since I can first remember and have a total addiction to running and Zumba. After years of enjoying exercise for myself I realized that I wanted to share my enjoyment with other people, which is where my journey to becoming a personal trainer began.  I now am on the road to becoming certified for as many things related to exercise that I can so I can begin to teach and share with other people what I have come to love so much. My first step was taken in June when I became a certified Zumba Instructor. I love meeting new people and I enjoy helping people get on the right path to being healthy for life. You'll soon learn that working out cannot only make you feel great, but can be a lot of fun at the same time.

Samantha Shelton

Hi guys, my name is Samantha Shelton and I'm a senior here at Oswego State. I have a dual major in journalism and creative writing, and I'm studying on the side to be a nationally certified personal trainer. Crazy, right? I know. This is my third year working at the fitness centers; my second as a personal trainer and student manager. I look at fitness as a way of life, not something I'm forced to do all the time. I love working out and helping people reach their fitness goals. I like to formulate workouts not only around what the client enjoys, but also through things that can be done in everyday life and outside of the gym. Some people just don't have time to spend hours at the gym, so I want to help you think outside the box. So whether this is all new to you or you've been doing this for awhile and just need a little extra push, I'd love to help you get pumped to work out!

Samantha Smith

Hi my name is Samantha Smith and I am a sophomore at SUNY Oswego.  It is my goal to finish SUNY Oswego with a degree in Biology and continue my education in a professional school to receive a doctorate in physical therapy.  One day it is my dream to have my own physical therapy practice and help patients regain and improve their physical abilities through specific exercises and equipment.  Until that day I am working as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor at both fitness centers on campus.  This will be my first year as an employee of the fitness centers, and I am very excited to start!  I am very faithful to working out and living a healthy lifestyle.  I strongly believe in changing a workout often to keep your muscles confused and actively working, therefore making the workout more effective and fun.  I love meeting new people and helping others reach their fitness goals and look forward to working at the fitness centers this year!

Alejandro Sosias

Hey, my name is Alex Sosias I am 20 years old and from Denver, Colorado but currently live in Washington D.C. This is my second year as a personal trainer at SUNY Oswego. I do have more experience outside of SUNY Oswego with sport clinics and gym internships. My major is Health and Wellness and it is really what I love doing. I could not ask for a better college job and studies. I am very excited to meet my clients this year and am ready for you all to get closer to your fitness goals!!

Allison Tuttle

My name is Allison and I am in the Mental Health Counseling program for my masters degree. My Bachelors degree was in Wellness Management with a double minor in coaching and health science from here at SUNY Oswego. I have a very well rounded background in sports that I will use as a tool to help you achieve your goals. My athletic background includes knowledge and experience in white water rafting, soccer, volley ball, gymnastics, hiking, basketball, cheerleading,  track, softball, biking, and rock climbing.

I like to take my experiences and incorporate them into a program that fits your needs and helps you achieve your goals. But remember! Maintaining a healthy diet goes hand in hand with fitness so take the initiative to better your insides while I help you better your outsides. No question is a stupid question and if I can't answer it, I will help you find it! I practice what I preach and I love sharing my passion for wellness with anyone who has the eagerness to listen.

I look forward to working with you!!

David Van Fleet

Hello, my name is David Van Fleet.  I am a senior Graphic Design major at SUNY Oswego.  This is my first year as a personal trainer.  I am looking forward to working with and helping out as many clients as I possibly can.  I enjoy playing basketball, baseball, soccer, boxing, golf, and many other sports.  I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, hunting, and relaxing by the water.  Music is a very important inspiration to me.  I enjoy listening to hip-hop, oldies, and rock whether I'm relaxing, or trying to get pumped up.  In my free time I like to read various books and magazines.  I graduated from SUNY Buffalo in 2009 with an Exercise Science BS degree.  It is extremely important to maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercise, eating properly, and making positive lifestyle choices.  America makes this tough for us due to lack of time, energy, money, and the negative temptations around us.  I am excited to help those in need, and to educate those who want improve their lifestyle through exercise.

Joe Whelan

Hi, my name is Joe and this is my first semester as a trainer. I'm a sophomore and a public justice major. I'm extremely dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and I never miss a day at the gym. For anyone looking for a well rounded trainer that's enthusiastic and encouraging, I'm a good candidate. I don't lift for any superficial reason, I do it for functional fitness and to be healthy, I think that is the best reason for people to be in the gym. I think it's important to be in shape because fitness provides a lot of opportunities. I know that all goals are within reach, no matter what, it is simply a matter of dedication, and I enjoy motivating people to be dedicated.
