Why did you choose Oswego? It came with everything I had wanted and needed! An excellent Communications program, the merit scholarship, BEAUTIFUL location (right on the lake!), a field hockey program I could get involved in, and very reasonable tuition price. There is also an endless amount of programs for students to become active in and ways for students of all ages to get involved in on campus; that also really peaked my interest in SUNY Oswego. Most importantly though, every single person I met in Oswego, whether it was a student, a faculty or administration member, were SO nice and very willing to go totally out of their way in order to help me. Everyone here is so friendly and personable. I KNEW I belonged here!
Campus Involvement: PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) Lambda Pi Eta (Communications Honor Society) COMPASS Navigator (Intern at the Campus Center COMPASS) Oswego State Field Hockey (Freshman and Sophomore years) Oswego Admissions Representative and Student Worker
Favorite college memory so far: My favorite memory at SUNY Oswego was getting snowed in for a week in February 2007. The amount of snow we received was absolutely unbelievable and it was so much fun to play in! Whether I was outside jumping off my Jeep into the just-as-high snow piles or cozied up inside watching Sex and the City and Friends, it was an amazing week. It was also so exciting that it made national news!
What do you want new students to know about coming to Oswego? The best way to getting to know your new school, the people and everything SUNY Oswego has to offer is to get involved in as much as you can! There are over 150 on-campus clubs and organizations, so whatever your interest is, it's so easy to find something you enjoy! It's such a great way to meet new friends who share similar interests as you do. The most important thing is to do whatever make you happy while still focusing on your academics.
