Make sure you are ready for Orientation!

Things to do between May and September for SUNY Oswego. The page numbers listed refer to the mailing that was sent out in the spring.  You can print a hard copy of this form by clicking on the printer icon in the upper right corner.

First Things First

Step 1: First Time Registration
             
Visit myOswego to complete the following:

Complete the Meningitis Tracking Survey (pg. 3)

Confirm Code of Conduct (pg. 3)

Verify MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Compliance      Statement (pg. 3)

Activate your SUNY Oswego email account (pg. 3)

Step 2: Finances and Tuition

File your application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as      soon as possible  (pg. 4)

Things to Do Starting in May and to Complete Before You Attend an Orientation Program

Step 3: Health History and Insurance

Complete your Health History Form (pg. 5)
     Complete the form on myOswego. More information      about the Mary Walker Health Center.

Sign up for Health Insurance or complete waiver form   
    (pg. 5) on myOswego.  More information about the      Health Center.

Step 4: Residence Life and Housing

Submit your housing preference (pg. 6)
     Complete the form on myOswego.  More information
     about Residence Life and Housing, Housing Preferences,
     and New Students - Apply Online Help.

Step 5: FirstChoice Selection (for first year students)

Start the pre-registration process by registering for a
     FirstChoice Course (pg.7) on myOswego. Check out these
     links for more information about FirstChoice as well as 
     more detailed instructions on how to make your  
     FirstChoice selection.

Step 6: Math Placement Testing

Get informed about Math Placement Testing (pg. 8).

Step 7: Sign Up for "The Laker"

Step 8: New Student Orientation Registration

Register for New Student Orientation Program on      myOswego (pg. 9).  More information about      Orientation.

Step 9: Parent/Family Orientation Registration

Things to Do After You Have Attended an Orientation Program

Find out the name of your First Year Advisor on      myOswego.  (pg. 7) More information on First Year      Advisement.

Step 10: College Student Inventory (first year students only)

Complete the College Student Inventory on myOswego     (pg. 12)

Get to Know SUNY Oswego!

Register for a Parking Pass. (pg. 13) More

Sign Up for New York Alert on myOswego (pg. 14).  More

Get your computer ready for the campus network

Get your Prepacked Textbooks on myOswego (pg. 17).

Read your ORI (Oswego Reading Initiative) book
