There are so many different ways for students to get involved with the
Lifestyles Center! Here are a few of the most popular ways you can be
involved...
Become A Peer Educator
Applications are now available for students interested in being a Peer
Educator for the Spring 2008 semester. Earn academic credit while participating
in events and programs that benefit the campus community. This is an excellent
opportunity for all majors! Click here to
download an application, pick one up at the Lifestyles Center or e-mail us and we will send you
one! From planning programs to evaluating them, our Peer Educators, interns and
volunteers ensure that awareness about health issues is promoted throughout the
campus. If you have ideas for any of these campaigns, or want to be involved,
please email us!
Toilet Talk
This weekly bathroom reader features information on health related issues.
It can be found in every residence hall restroom and even in some academic
buildings. It is one of the most read publications on campus and is written,
edited and posted by Oswego State students.
Educational Message Team (EMT)
This group of students develops and creates media based campaigns for the
Center, including pamphlets, posters, flyers newspaper ads and bus ads.
Once the initial ideas and concepts are developed by the students, our
undergraduate Graphic Designers make those concepts a reality.
Grooves & Grinds/Special Events Committee
This committee organizes and attends Grooves Grinds, a
weekly event held every Thursday which provides entertainment for students in a
healthy, safe, on-campus venue. Karaoke is guaranteed every other Thursday and
on opposite weeks, we have hosted Swing Dancing, Reiki,
Sexcapades and more! This committee also plans fun teambuilding and social
events for peer educators and staff. If you have specific questions about these
opportunities, please feel free to email us. We look forward to having you
involved in all the fun and excitement that we have.
