Disability Support Services

The Disability Support Services office has three Graduate positions available for the Fall 2009 semester.

The first position will be to manage the note taker service in the DSS office. This position is responsible for recruiting note takers for students with a documented disability.   The successful candidate will need to be able to organize and maintain a data base containing a variety of information. The position requires computer skills i.e. Word, email, data base management, etc. Also, the graduate student will be required to contact students as well as faculty to secure note takers for various courses. Please contact Patrick Devendorf 312-3358 with any questions.

The two positions are in the Alternative format office and require a considerable amount of computer knowledge and experience. The successful candidate will be able to convert textbooks to a format (Pdf. Mp3.) that is accessible to students who have a documented print disability.  The alternate format office acts as a “clearing house” of information acting as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff. The alternate format office must also be in contact with the many publishers of the required textbooks, to insure that copyright laws are being followed.  Please contact Patrick Devendorf 312-3358 with any questions.
