We recruit accounting majors for Tax Auditor Trainee positions. Appointees participate in a comprehensive two-year traineeship during which classroom and on-the-job training is provided in such areas as tax law, rules and regulations, as well as automated accounting systems, departmental audit policies, guidelines, and procedures. |NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Police||The mission of the Division of Law Enforcement is, "To protect and enhance the environment and natural resources of the State of New York while also protecting the health and safety of its people through the enforcement of Environmental Conservation and related laws and public education."
This mission is accomplished by over 330 sworn members of the Division of Law Enforcement. They focus their efforts on Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) enforcement although they are empowered to enforce all laws of the state. |OCO Literacy Volunteers||OCO Literacy Volunteers is a student-centered community program dedicated to providing opportunities at no cost for adults to achieve personal goals by teaching English speaking, reading, writing, and technology skills in a confidential manner. This internship experience would be a wonderful opportunity to work in a positive environment and make a difference in the lives of individuals. Intern will work with staff in meeting the literacy needs of clients. Intern will assist in researching grant opportunities, assist with fundraising events, and outreach activities. Intern will provide office support where needed and prepare documentation relevant to programs and office needs. Highly organized and detail oriented. Basic office skills necessary include typing, filing, data entry, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. An understanding of prioritizing and time management are essential. Any volunteer experience is also desirable but not required.|

Youth Bureau/Camp Hollis
|We are a summer residential camp in Oswego NY and we are currently looking for counselors, group activity leaders, lifeguards and kitchen workers to work from June 22nd to August 15th. Our camp serves children ages 8 to 14 as well as 15 and 16 year old Counselors-in-training. Residency is required and we have campers from Sunday to Friday for an 8 week period.|
|Oswego County AmeriCorps||Members of the Oswego County AmeriCorps Program serve in projects that directly benefit children and families. Project sites include schools, libraries, recreation programs and non-profit agencies. Our program objectives are to establish mentoring relationships with youth; provide physical fitness activities and nutrition education to youth; and to recruit and manage volunteers. Our 900 hour members receive a modest living allowance of $6,527 throughout their term of 6-12 months. After successful completion of their service, they receive an education award in the amount of $2,775. The education award can be used to pay off student loans and/or finance college, graduate school or vocational training. We are currently accepting applications for our 2014 Summer Program in which members serve 300 hours, receive a living allowance of $2,113 and an education award of $1,175. |Oswego Harborfest||Harborfest is a 4-day/night admission free festival held annually during the last full weekend of July. The 27th Anniversary edition of Harborfest will take place July 24-27. Putting together a 4-day festival that brings over 200,000 people to our community is a huge undertaking. We are now looking for talented, innovative interns who are ready to jump in and try new things!
Harborfest can offer a variety of internship options with a variety of areas of concentration. An internship with Harborfest is a for-credit-only internship - or non-paid. Interns are not guaranteed employment with Harborfest upon completion of the internship. Internships with Harborfest are mostly general in nature but Harborfest will make every effort to give each intern as much experience in their preferred internship field; interns may be assigned to work in any number of areas or departments. Interns are expected to be ready to assist any department regardless of their preferred internship field.

|The Assisted Learning Center at the Oswego High School provides students with a tutoring center throughout the school day. High School students receive one on one help in all subjects. The Assisted Learning Center is looking for college students to tutor high school students especially in English, History and Math. Volunteers also have the opportunity to participate in classroom observation.|
