The Bachelor of Science degree in wellness management is designed to prepare
students to assume roles as wellness/health promotion professionals in private
business and industries, community organizations, and health care
organizations. The degree will provide students the opportunity to select a
program that focuses on wellness, worksite health promotion, and managing such
programs.
Wellness is often chosen by those interested in the broader fields of health
and physical fitness. Students will be prepared to enter careers in travel,
tourism, parks and recreation agencies, and resort properties with the
recreation and tourism concentration.
In addition to a broad liberal arts education, students can graduate with a
foundation in health science/wellness, management, and human behavior. Students
can also graduate with skills in needs assessment, program planning, program
implementation, and program evaluation. These skills will reflect the health
needs of a worksite/business.
This degree offers students the opportunity to enter the job market as
organizers, activity leaders, and facility and equipment managers. They help
people in entertainment, self improvement and physical fitness. Skills
maintained by those in this field include leadership and organization,
motivation, and the ability to work with a variety of people.
