Career Fairs/Major Events
Oswego Jobarama February 3, Swetman Gym within Campus Center, 11-2pm If you are looking for the right opportunity on campus for Spring 2010 or the following academic year, this is the place to go! Need a campus internship? Looking for a part-time job? Want to be a R.A.? Library worker? Building Manager? Lab Assistant? Compass Intern? We'll have many areas of campus that offers opportunities on hand to talk to you about how to get involved for credit or cash. No resume required, just drop in and start exploring!
Image 2010! Feb. 18, 2010, Metro Center, Syracuse, NY (Free transportation to the first 22 students who sign up in Career Services). The Central New York Career Development Association invites you to participate in Image 2010! In our inaugural year we will focus on the entertainment industry and offer several opportunities for you to learn how to break into this exciting field. The first 28 registrants will be able to schedule a mock interview with a professional recruiter from the CNY Society for Human Resource Management.
Conference attendees will also choose three to four workshops to attend on various entertainment industries and learn how professionals in the field broke into sought after entertainment careers. Workshop topics include: Television, Media and Events, Fashion and Professional Etiquette. To top the evening off, Jessica Styles, Founder and President of The FAB Network will give a keynote address focusing on careers in the television, fashion and beauty industries.

Futures in Finance February 24, Sheldon Lower Lobby Lounge,12:30-2pm If you are considering a career in Finance, Insurance, risk Management or banking, you may want to drop by and explore your options. We'll have representatives from all of these fields on hand to talk to you about available jobs and internships as well as career tracks you can take. It is free! Backpack to Briefcase April 6th, Campus Center Auditorium (Rm. 118), 6-9pm Join multiple guest speakers, corporate recruiters and alumni for an action pack evening that can change your life! We'll tackle topics from career exploration and self-assessment to interviewing, resumes, and what to do if you don't want to go to work OR grad. school. Food and prizes for this FREE event!
Career Fair April 8, Campus Center Hockey Arena, 4-7pm We'll have over 50 organizations on hand who want to talk to YOU about full/part time, internship, and volunteer opportunities. Bring a resume - or just a good handshake - and begin to map out your next move!

Job Searching in a Tough Economy February 17, 136 Campus Center, 12:40 - 1:35 PM Sure, it is the worst economic downturn in our lifetime and the job market is going south. Take heart, there are many things you can do to ensure you are successful in the job search process.
Graduate School – Should You Attend Graduate School? February 24, 136 Campus Center, 12:40 - 1:35 PM This is a workshop designed to help you determine if graduate school is the right move for you. This workshop will focus on making a good decision about whether to continue your study at this point or not.

This workshop is good preparation for the annual Teacher Recruitment Days, April 12-13.
