Alumni Sharing Knowledge A.S.K., Alumni Sharing Knowledge, is a career exploration program sponsored by the Oswego Alumni Association that connects students to mentors that are SUNY Oswego alumni working in numerous professions throughout the nation. We would like your help in making students more aware of this fantastic program.

Through A.S.K., students can:
Engage in Networking
Go for a day-on-the-job visit

Receive information about living/working in a different locations
Get connected with potential internships as well as hiring personnel
CNY Central/WSTM-NBC3/WTVH-CBS5/WSTQ/CW6 Based on James Street in Syracuse, we provide news information and entertainment on the NBC, CBS and CW outlets, as well as on a digital channel and on the CNYCentral website.

Our primary product is local information, and we hire personnel for our news and weather operations, as well as sales account executives and the support personnel for our 24x7 operation.

We also offer internships in all areas of station operation, for college credit, in fall and spring semesters, as well as summer and winter break.

Oswego County AmeriCorps Members of the Oswego County AmeriCorps Program serve in projects around the county that directly benefit children and families. Project sites include schools, libraries, recreation programs, and non-profit agencies. Our program objectives are to establish mentoring relationships with youth; to provide physical education and nutrition education activities; and to recruit and manage volunteers. AmeriCorps members receive a modest living allowance. After completing a term of service, they receive an education award that can be used to pay off student loans and/or finance college, graduate school or vocational training. Members can receive deferment on qualified student loans for their term of service. When the service commitment is completed, all or some of the interest accrued on deferred loans will be paid by the National Service Trust. Our 900 hour members serve for 6 to 12 months, receive a living allowance of $6,399 and an education award of $2,775. Summer members serve 300 hours, receive a living allowance of $2,072 and an education award of $1,175. Oswego High School Assisted Learning Center The Assisted Learning Center at the Oswego High School provides students with a tutoring center throughout the school day. High School students receive one on one help in all subjects. The Assisted Learning Center is looking for college students to tutor high school students especially in English, History and Math. Volunteers also have the opportunity to participate in classroom observation.

Person to Person is a not-for-profit organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities who are at risk of social isolation. We are currently recruiting voluntary, unpaid advocates/mentors who are willing to enter into a one-to-one relationship with a person with a disability. How the relationship develops, how often they see each other and what they do, is determined by the two people involved in the relationship. Citizen advocacy offers the volunteer the opportunity to become personally and directly involved as a friend, mentor, ally or advisor.
