Accounting Recruitment Instructions

Please read this information carefully - resume deadline is Sept. 19, 2008!!

**This page will be updated regularly - be sure to check back for important updates!

Hello! I hope your summer is going well and you are getting ready to come back to Oswego for a great year! Believe it or not, on-campus recruiting is upon us, so I wanted to get this information to you detailing the firms that are interested in recruitment, and other pertinent information. This page will serve as the main conduit for recruitment information with regards to accounting firms so please read carefully - and read this entire page.
You must be eligible to graduate Dec. '08, May, '09 or Aug. '09 in order to engage in the recruitment process, with the exception of IBM, PWC, and Bonadio (they are recruiting for internships in addition to full-time positions  - details linked below)

Linked is a list of accounting recruiters, contact information, deadlines to which you'll need to pay attention and materials requested by each company. As you will see from the list, we have ONE deadline for you to get ALL materials into our office - Friday, Sept. 19th at 3pm. As you can see, we have many recruiters this year participating in the resume referral aspect of recruiting. We will be collecting resumes this fall in paper format only directly though our office in 142 Campus Center. You will need to pay strict attention to the materials each firm is requesting and provide us those materials by the deadline.  For example, if you are interested in Dermody, Burke, & Brown, we need a resume and signed cover letter. Fust, however, requires an unofficial transcript along with a resume and signed cover letter.

FYI

** For those firms that will be interviewing on-campus, our office will contact you via the email/local phone number listed on your resume to notify you of your selection status as soon as we know the recruiter's decision.

** Resume Referral: this means a company wants to receive resumes of interested candidates, but has not scheduled a time to interview students on campus. The company will follow up with students on their own. This is common for first time recruiters -they want to see what SUNY Oswego students have to offer before committing to recruiting on-campus.

** Do not apply to these organizations on your own - utilize our office procedures. Many of these organizations have agreed to participate in recruiting through our office only. The contact info. on the company list is to assist you in writing professional, business-like cover letters. Drop by for assistance in writing these job search documents, attend seminars, and/or check out our related handouts.

** Although the recruitment process through our office will put you in contact with many recruiters, DO NOT hesitate to look for other opportunities with other organizations not necessarily represented on this site.  If you have specific geographic preferences or other special considerations, please work with the Career Services office to uncover opportunities that match your needs.  We are here to help you in any way we can...

You can drop in to our office for assistance in writing resumes and cover letters, interviewing skills, and much more - check out drop-in hours by calling 312-2255. Our entire calendar is also available to you.
