From all of the ARCON VII Deacons - 3/21/08

All of the deacons of ARCON want to thank everyone who attended ARCON this year. For some of us, this was out last year, and every single one of you made this a very special event! Attendance was phenomenal - over 119 people in total. We made a ton of money, which is always good. We're already planning for next year, so if you have suggestions or comments don't hesitate to post to the forums or email us.

Games went well and fun was had all around. We saw a lot of familiar faces, and a lot of new faces. ARCON is always expanding, so we hope to see all of you back next year with new friends! Our vendor Baldo sold a lot of merchandise so he was as happy as can be. Thank you to everyone who bought stuff!

Game Submissions for next ARCON will open in the fall. For now, the Deacons are resting and relaxing over spring break. We hope you have a good spring break too!

Pre-Registration is open! Go to the Pre-Registration page HERE and get in for great prices, get a cheaper t-shirt, and assure your postion at the table of your favorite game! It's SO EXCITING!!

Also, a note on Game Submissions: You can still submit a game to run at ARCON, but it WILL NOT BE INCLDED IN THE PACKET. We'll post the time and location of your game at the beginning of the slot it is in.

The monthly submission quota is about to go over, so if you submit a game and get an error message, just send your game information to the Arch Deacon Rachel at randrew13@gmail.com and she will send you a confirmation message. Thank you! This will only be a problem until the end of the month.

For those patrons of ARCON whom I do not see on a regular basis, or those who simply refuse to pay attention, the game submission deadline for ARCON VII is Monday, February 25, 2008. I would ask that all games be submitted before midnight on the 25th. For those not sure if they are going to run a game, or need to play test, we will be having a mini-con on Saturday, February 23. This would be an opportune time to play test your game and then get go to the Game Submission Form to submit your game.

Hot Dog! Happy Holidays, Arcon-goers! We've got some gifts for you, belated as they may be. As you (might) have noticed, the site got a visual overhaul! Soon you will be able to check out the snazzy banners and icons in the Downloads section, and get a preview of the tenative Events Schedule underneath Admissions! Aside from that, I added the slot schedule beneath the Game Subsmission form due to popular demand. An update that didn't get listed from a few months ago is the official logo! Yes, it was done a while ago thanks to the PR deacon, Liz.

Minor Graphics Update

Today, I tweaked the graphics. You probably haven't noticed a major difference. That's good! I made the page skinnier so now it will fit on normal width-screens. I also tweaked the ad on the first page. It still says April but it's almost 2am =_= That'll teach me to make an ad before the date of the con is confimred. The correct month IS listed under the banner on every page though; I DID do that much.

If you've been paying attention, the Deacon's page has been updated several times already. Keep sending in your profiles guys! Otherwise I will make them up!

Moving on, I added the Admissions Page! Woo! Pre-Registration is obviously not up yet, but I did compile a list of hotels in Oswego, their websites, locations, and directions from them to campus. I included nightly rates if I could, and how far from campus they are in general.

Alrightly folks, after spending a few weeks doing homework, we've finally got some more updates!

First, as you may have noticed, the Deacon's page is up at last! Are you curious about the people who run ARCON? Go check us out! It's bare right now, so if you are a Deacon, send me a picture of yourself (Pictures: 300x210 px [Width by Height]) and the information you see listed! A short biography is also welcome. You can find out how to contact me by looking at my profile!

I also did some things to make the site work in Internet Explorer. I fixed the sub-banner width (since in IE it was too small), and fixed the menu (I hope) which was dropping down below everything else in IE. I've tested with a few people and they say it works.

I finally deleted the background crown, fixing background alignment issues it was causing.

Arch Deacon News
Rachel - 9/23/2007

As everyone can see, Tyna did an awesome job on the website. I'm excited about it, even if no one else really is. We've done a lot in the past few weeks. The slot schedule has been finalized. We'll get that posted up for people to see as soon as possible. We changed our Anime Deacon to our Multimedia Deacon. They have a couple new responsibilities, such as scheduling the Sci-fi we're also going to be showing and making sure that ARCON is photographically documented.

Speaking of Deacon changes, we're renaming the WMG Deacon to the Strategy Deacon to prevent my confusion as to who should be doing what. I'm easily confused after Group Theory (scary 400 level chemistry course for those who haven't heard me complain about it).

Also, I have a meeting this Friday with the higher ups of room reservations and may very well have a date for the Con after that meeting. I won't have rooms until the Spring schedule comes out, but I'll take a date with the promise of rooms sooner than waiting to get a definite on rooms and not knowing about a date.

Welcome to the ARCON site everyone! As you can see... there's not a lot to see just yet! We have up some Frequently Asked Questions that we hope will entertain you for now. Soon enough we will have up the Game Submission form, and then the ARCON staff will become very very busy :) But we like it that way, busy is good! Goodnight!

Awesome! So I get the first news post ever! It will soon be buried under weeks of updates so don't worry. Just letting everyone know that the site is now up, though still technically under construction. There is an in-progress F.A.Q's page, and that's about it. Bits and pieces will come online as the months go by :)
