Want
to join S.A.V.A.C.?
Are you
interested in joining S.A.V.A.C.? We are always looking for new members.
You do not need to have any experience in emergency services or
training in any kind of medical care. We will train you for free.
The only requirement to join is that you must be a Student Activity fee-paying student of SUNY Oswego.
Are you
a busy student who is worried about time requirements? As a
member of S.A.V.A.C., you are only expected to work one shift per week. Most of shifts are 4 hours long, and we also have overnight shifts
where you report for duty at 11pm and can sleep at base, where we have
a bunk room with six bunks available, and leave to go to
class in the morning. We also require every member to
attend four drills per semester that help prepare and train you for a wide variety of emergencies you may face. You are also required to attend the corps
meeting every month, which usually lasts approximately one hour.
S.A.V.A.C. is
more than just a ambulance corps. We are a family as well. You
wull
meet a lot of new people and make a lot of friends while learning
a lot along the way as a member of S.A.V.A.C. Working for
S.A.V.A.C. also counts as community service for both Hart and
Johnson Halls on campus, and may also qualify for other things as
well.
