General Information

The Center for Communication and Information Technologies (CCIT) at SUNY Oswego proposes a conference for spring 2007 as part of the State University of New York's Conversation in the Disciplines program. It is planned that this conference will also receive funding from the SUNY Oswego Arts Programming Board, Artswego, which has chosen "Art and Technology" as the theme for the 2006-2007 academic year.

“A Conversation Between Art and Science on Information Visualization” will bring together researchers and artists from the fields of Art, Graphic Design, Human Computer Interaction, Information Science, and other fields working with interactive integrated media design. The purpose of such a conversation is to stimulate discussions centered on how digital imaging technology has transformed the ways in which we can communicate ideas visually. The conference will include speakers as well as an exhibition of current projects created by SUNY faculty and students. Projects for exhibition will be sought from all SUNY Schools.
