1. In-House Printing & Copying Services Top of Page

Most first time publications require four weeks from the receipt of text and materials until printed copies are delivered. The time is shorter when art work is furnished camera-ready. If a job is run on the Duplicator allow one to five days.

When submitting assets for design and setup, your final text should be delivered to us on disk or e-mailed along with hard copy. Please do not attempt to design or layout your text -- the text is easier to edit if it is not set up this way. See production specs. Text is edited for accuracy and understanding. Writing and proofreading is the responsibility of the project originator.

2. Off-Campus Printing Service Top of Page

We also prepare pre-press files for work printed by outside vendors. Most publications require two weeks from the receipt of text and materials for the initial design and setup. Jobs may be designed and set-up for pre-press by the department staff for single color, spot color or process color. The artwork is then delivered to the customer. Printing is the responsibility of the project originator. If a service cannot be provided by this office, referrals may be obtained for an off-campus source.

3. Camera-Ready Art Top of Page

Offset jobs may be designed and setup then submitted on disk along with hard copy printouts. Submit the job file, attached image files, and Postscript ?? fonts with the job. Camera-ready means that the work can be printed as is, without edits or design changes of any kind.

Camera-ready printouts only, not disk files, should be submitted for duplication on the copier. See camera-ready art.

4. Graphic Identity Standards Top of Page

Developed to ensure a strong, consistent look for SUNY Oswego - The Graphic Identity Guide and official college logotypes.

5. Production Scheduling & Deadlines Top of Page

The Publications Office needs to receive job assets in a timely manner that is agreed upon in the production schedule. All assets should be complete and final. Untimely changes or delays of job assets may result in a delay of more than the equivalent days in production time. Please expect to meet with a department representative to confirm production scheduling on new jobs or major revisions. See Publications Planning Guide.

6. Estimates Top of Page

Each job is individual in specs and finishing details. Please review our planning guide and then call for an estimate (315.312.3130).

7. Billing Top of Page

Most billing is to state account numbers and is done as a journal transfer. A copy of the bill is sent to the billed department. Non-state accounts are billed directly and payment should be made by check, payable to "College Publications."

If deadlines or complexity of the job don't allow for printing here, referrals may be obtained for an off-campus source.
